To support our team and due to the rapidly growing portfolio, we are currently looking for a competent, responsible and committed (Senior) Financial Controller - Real Estate (m/f/d) with experience in the real estate sector for the Berlin location (or remotely).


Main responsibilities:

  • Reviews the completeness, accuracy and reliability of reported data on a property level, performs analytical checks and analysis of the reported data.
  • Supports and coordinates preparation of entity level budgets, along with comparison of budgeted vs actual data for properties.
  • Prepares forecasts on property level, along with comparison of forecasted vs actual data.
  • Obtains and processes input on property level from property managers and property accountants for purposes of financial reporting.
  • Participates in asset management meetings.
  • Coordinates financial and tax due diligence and structuring parts of acquisition and divestment processes.
  • Assists with treasury issues and ensures covenant monitoring.
  • Oversees bank accounts and implements procedures for risk management in payment procedures.
  • Takes active part in financing and refinancing processes.
  • Prepares internal corporate annual budgets, along with comparison of budgeted vs actual data, monitors liquidity position.
  • Prepares internal corporate P&L reporting.
  • Manages and optimises the efficiency and effectiveness of finance processes.
  • Selects and manages service providers of holding entities.


  • Bachelor or Master degree in finance, such as business economics or accountancy.
  • Minimum of probably 5-7 years relevant work experience, preferably in a similar position or big 4 accounting firm. More senior applicants also welcome.
  • Experience in real estate is a must, ideally in a German-focussed real estate investment manager with some international capital.
  • Experience with cross-border transactions, and particularly with Luxembourg-domiciled structures owning German real estate.
  • Solid understanding of domestic (German) and cross-border real estate taxation principles.
  • First-hands experience in real estate financing and dealing with German mortgage banks (experience with international lenders an advantage).
  • Experience in dealing with property managers, project managers and third party service providers.
  • Experience in joint venture and “operating partner” structures is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of key financial ratios associated with real estate investments.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as IFRS and accounting principles in general.
  • Strong analytical skills and well-developed critical attitude.
  • Accurate, independent, proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Fluent English language skills; other European languages an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Excel. Experience with DATEV.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of stakeholders, from employees to management as well as external partners.


  • The role will report to the two Managing Partners of the business who are hands-on and involved in all aspects of the business.
  • The role will benefit from the support of one accounting/administrative headcount (in-place).
  • The role will also work in close cooperation with the Head of Portfolio/Asset Management and asset managers on all portfolio properties and with the acquisition team on all investment topics.

Compensation Structure:

  • Base salary (tbd).
  • Annual bonus based on the person’s KPI and the performance of the company, at the discretion of the Managing Partners.
